Academics

At TMSA Public Charter Schools, academics are rooted in the belief that every student can achieve excellence through curiosity, perseverance, and purpose. Our schools offer a rigorous, well-rounded education that integrates the North Carolina Standard Course of Study with innovative, research-based practices, ensuring that every learner is challenged, supported, and inspired.

TMSA’s academic framework is built on three pillars: academic rigor, character development, and leadership growth. From the earliest grades through high school, students participate in meaningful learning experiences that enhance literacy, mathematics, and critical thinking skills, while also fostering creativity and collaboration. Teachers work in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) to analyze data, design interventions, and personalize instruction so that each student reaches their full potential.

Our curriculum includes high-quality core programs in English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies, complemented by robust offerings in STEAM, world languages, fine arts, and physical education. At the high school level, students can accelerate their learning through honors and AP courses, signature academy pathways (biomedical, engineering, computer science, and finance), and dual enrollment opportunities with local colleges and universities.

Across all campuses, TMSA’s instructional practices are guided by our mission to foster academic excellence, character, and leadership for all students. We believe learning should ignite curiosity, encourage discovery, and prepare students to make meaningful contributions in a global society.

At TMSA, academics are not just about mastering standards; they are about developing thinkers, problem solvers, and leaders who are ready to shape the future.
