TMSA Star League
Our students amaze us every day. Their curiosity, creativity, and potential are incredible—and at TMSA Concord ES, we are committed to helping every child grow and shine.
At TMSA, we believe in creating meaningful opportunities for students to explore their strengths. One of those opportunities is the TMSA Star League, an advanced academic program designed to support and challenge motivated learners.
The Star League serves students in upper elementary and beyond, offering engaging experiences in mathematics and problem-solving. Through this program, students build confidence, develop critical thinking skills, and—when ready—participate in academic competitions at the state and national level.
Our goal is simple: to nurture a love of learning and help students discover their unique talents in a supportive and encouraging environment.
Who Can Join?
Because space is limited, the Star League is by invitation only. There are two ways students may qualify:
1. MAP Growth Math Scores
Students who score in the 99th percentile or higher on the Spring MAP Growth Math test may receive an invitation at the start of the following school year.
2. Math Competition Achievement
Students who perform at a high level in recognized competitions may also be invited, including:
AMC 8
AMC 10/12
MathCounts
MathCON
A Note for Parents
We understand that every child’s learning journey is different. Participation in the Star League is reviewed each year, and invitations do not automatically carry over. This allows us to ensure the program remains the right fit for each student at each stage of their growth.
Some students may join in later years, while others may take a break—and that’s perfectly okay. Growth takes time, and we are here to support students every step of the way.
Opportunities for Students
Students in the Star League:
- Explore advanced math concepts in a fun and engaging way
- Build problem-solving and critical thinking skills
